Installing a Hex Key Into a Keyless Single
Sleeve Chuck (Fig. C, E)
WARNING:
Do not attempt to tighten drill bits (or
any other accessory) by gripping the front part of the
chuck and turning the tool on. Damage to the chuck
and personal injury may result. Always lock off trigger
switch when changing acces sories.
WARNING:
Always ensure the bit is secure before
starting the tool. A loose bit may eject from tool
causing possible personal injury.
CAUTION:
Do not install an accessory so that any
feature exends sideways past the outer rim of the
chuck sleeve.
CAUTION:
Do not install an "S" shaped key into the
chuck. Personal injury may result.
CAUTION:
Do not install hex key with short end out
as shown in Fig. E. Personal injury may result.
Your tool is equipped with a special hex key slot

. This allows
you to install a hex key up to 5 mm. A 4 mm hex key

has been included with this screwdriver. Various sized hex
keys may be supplied with assembly required furniture.
1. Turn the tool off and position the forward/reverse
slider

into the center, locked position .
2. Grasp the chuck sleeve

with one hand and use
the other hand to secure the tool. Rotate the sleeve
counterclockwise far enough to accept the hex key

3. To install a hex key

slide the hex key, short end first,
into the chuck

as shown in Fig. C.
nOTE:
A built in magnet at the back of the chuck will
hold the hex key in place as you tighten the chuck.
nOTE:
Ensure the hex key is centered in the chuck jaws
and the flats align with the tips of the jaws.
4. Rotate the chuck sleeve

clockwise with one hand
while securing the tool with the other until the chuck

is securely tightened around the hex key

nOTE:
Be sure to tighten the chuck with one hand on
the chuck sleeve and one hand holding the tool for
maximum tightness.
nOTE:
A clip-on extension ring

is provided to accept
larger sized hex keys. Install as shown in Fig. D.
5. To release the hex key

, repeat steps 1 and 2 above.
Lift the hex key

out once it is no longer held by the
chuck

Your tool features a keyless chuck

with one rotating
sleeve. To insert a bit or accessory, follow these steps.
1. Turn the tool off and position the forward/reverse
slider

into the center, locked position .
2. Grasp the chuck sleeve

with one hand and use
the other hand to secure the tool. Rotate the sleeve
counterclockwise far enough to accept the desired bit
or accessory.
3. Insert the bit or accessory into the chuck

and tighten
securely by grasping and rotating the chuck sleeve

clockwise with one hand while securing the tool with
the other until the chuck

is securely tightened around
the bit or accessory.
nOTE:
Your tool is equipped with an automatic spindle
lock mechanism. This allows you to open and close the
chuck with one hand.
nOTE:
Be sure to tighten the chuck with one hand on
the chuck sleeve and one hand holding the tool for
maximum tightness.
4. To release the bit or accessory, repeat steps 1 and
2 above. Lift the bit or accessory out once it is no longer
held by the chuck

Electronic Protection System
Li-Ion tools are designed with an Electronic Protection
System that will protect the battery against overloading,
overheating or deep discharge. The tool will automatically
turn off and the battery will need to be recharged.
Important Charging Notes
1. The tool may become warm to the touch while
charging. This is a normal condition, and does not
indicate a problem. To facilitate the cooling of the tool
after use, avoid placing the tool in a warm environment
such as in a metal shed or an uninsulated trailer.
2. If the tool does not charge properly, take the tool and
USB cable to your local service center.
3. You may charge a partially used battery whenever you
desire, with no adverse effect on the tool.
