5-7 Bidirectional Communication

1) Open the Printer Properties window for the corresponding OS.

2) Click

Ports

tab.

Because

“

bidirectional support

” is disabled by default, it is necessary to tick

Enable

bidirectional support

to get status from the printer. Sample codes contained in the CD

can help you get more status information than the status information that OS supplies as
standard way. This windows driver supports only one-on-one communication between the
printer and host (typically a PC).

Printer status available to check:

-  COVER OPEN/CLOSE
-  PAPER EMPTY
-  NEAR END PAPER
-  CASH DRAWER OPEN/CLOSE
