4.2.2. Working with basic indexing
To perform the indexing do as follows (Fig. 5):
a) Unlock the spacer (if it is locked) and set up desired number of divisions as described in
point 4.2.1,
b) Keep on shifting the driving handle 41 from „A” position to „B” position (in „B”
position driving handle should contact the stopper 34) and again from „B” to „A” until
„0” mark on the scale matches the mark on scale 28 (driving handle should be left in „A”
position),
c) Loosen screw 29 and reposition the scale mark 28, so as the mark was precisely matched
with „0” mark on scale of sleeve 2,
d) Lock the super spacer with clamping handle 12,
e) Super spacer is ready for operation – machine the first surface of workpiece,
f) Unlock super spacer with clamping handle 12 and shift driving handle 41 from „A” to
„B” position, which result in making single division,
g) Lock again super spacer with clamping lever 12.
To perform further divisions, repeat steps from „f” to „g”.
ATTENTION!
When working with basic indexing, driving handle 41 must be in ”A” position and
clamping handle 12 must lock the spacer.
4.2.3. Special case of basic indexing – division in 2 (Fig. 5 and Fig. 6)
To perform 2 divisions set up spacer for 4 divisions – set-up ring 5 must be positioned as
shown in Fig. 6. Make two shifts with driving handle 41 from “B” to “A” position, which will
result in half turn in two shifts. Turn back clamping handle 12 to lock spacer.
