5. Options
5.1. Horizontally adjustable
legrests
To attach, remove, swing away and adjust the legrests and the legrest
length, please refer to section 4.2.
Horizontal adjustment functions as follows (fig. 38):
•
Pull lever backwards
•
Bring the legrest into the position required by raising or lowering
the support tube for the legrest.
•
Release the lever. The legrest locks automatically.
6. Accessories
6.1. Tip protection and anti-tip
wheels
Always use the anti-tip wheels in pairs.
To mount the anti-tip wheels, proceed as follows.
•
Remove the rubber profiles of the anti-tip wheels.
•
Push the round profile for the anti-tip wheels onto the lower side
frame tube.
•
Attach the tilt protection with the M6x35 bolt and locknut M6 in
the hole in the frame provided. (fig. 39).
When the anti-tip wheels are raised, they can also be used for tipping
assistance. (fig. 40).

6.2. Safety belt
If required, a safety belt is available as an accessory. This is mounted on
the side frame of the wheelchair with the side part either temporarily
removed or swung away (fig. 41). Take the open end of the belt once
around the side frame tube and fix it with the belt buckle.
Length adjustment is also carried out with the belt buckle. Adjust the
belt length such that the belt sits firmly but does not apply pressure.
7. Use
7.1. Entering and leaving from the
side
•
Move the wheelchair as close as possible to the present or future
seat so they are side by side.
•
If you wish to move from another wheelchair or room chair, lock it
by setting the parking brakes.
•
Secure the Pyro Light Optima against rolling away accidentally by
activating the parking brake.
•
Pivot the armrest backwards and away, or remove the side part with
the armrest.
•
Fold the foot plates to the side or remove the leg rests.
•
Now slide sideways onto the other seat.
•
Make sure that you are sitting as far back in the seat as possible.
•
Finally, return the leg rest to their original position and reinsert the
side parts if necessary.
