4. Using the scooter
After you have adjusted the scooter according to your height, familiarise
yourself with the functions of the controller.
4.1. Control Functions
The controller is a component of the steering column of your scooter. It
contains LED displays and functional elements.
Ignition key
Use the ignition key to switch your scooter on and off. To switch the
scooter on, turn it a quarter of a turn to the right. (Fig. 19).
Speed setting
You can use this control dial (fig. 20) to set the maximum achievable
speed.
•
Turn the controller to the left (tortoise) to reduce the maximum
speed.
•
Turn the controller to the right (hare) to increase the maximum
speed. If the controller is set to the hare, you have set the maximum
speed.
Headlight
Use the toggle switch under your handlebars to turn on your headlight
(fig. 21). This makes you more visible to other road users at dusk or
dawn or when passing through dark routes such as a tunnel.
Battery status display
The battery status display (fig. 22) shows the state of charge. If all nine
bars are visible, the battery is fully charged.
As you use the scooter, the battery capacity decreases and fewer bars
are displayed.
If only three bars are displayed, this means that only short journeys can
now be made and the battery should be recharged (see chapter 6.3.1
Charging).
Horn
The horn (Fig. 23) enables you to draw attention to yourself in difficult
situations.
