POOL PREPARATION
H.1. For a new pool or new water
➢
After filling
(using water from the mains network), check the cleanliness of the skimmers and filter, perform a
shock dose of 35% hydrogen peroxide (active oxygen) of 1L / 10 m3 to complete the cleaning process (with the
filtration turned on).
➢
Gently balance the various key water parameters:
TAC, pH and add a calcium sequestering agent; if the
local water is hard or very hard, this reduces limescale deposits, balances the water, and disinfectants will be
consumed less quickly and will be more effective.
➢
Check the correct opening and suction of the skimmers.
➢
Position the inlet jets slightly upwards
to skim the surface pollution swiftly towards the skimmers. Check that
the water circulates in all parts of the pool to avoid "dead zones", which are the preferred areas of algal growth.
➢
Make sure that the O CLEAR ELITE cabinet is off, add 1kg of salt per m3 of water (depending on the
pool volume) around the perimeter of the swimming pool
. Example: For a 50m3 pool, add 50kg of salt
As the O CLEAR works with a concentration of at least 0.5 g/l, it is necessary to add a little more at the
beginning of the season because there are losses mainly caused by the backwashing of the filter.
➢
Start the filtration pump
until the salt has completely dissolved in the pool.
H.2. For old water
(Four or five year-old water with chlorine, bromine, PHMB treatments, etc.)
➢
Provide fresh water after thoroughly cleaning
the pool, skimmers, and the pump filtration and pre-filter.
➢
Check the stabilizing rate
(should be lower than 30ppm)
➢
Change the filtering medium if it is more than 5 years old;
if not, check its cleanliness by opening it and
adding a product suitable for cleaning it.
➢
Then, perform the same operations as for fresh water.
H.3. In any case and regularly
➢
Check the water quality parameters and if necessary carry out manual calibrations, following the table below:
General visual state
clear, free from algae or sediment
Temperature
above 15 °C
Potential of hydrogen (pH)
between 7.0 and 7.4
Stabilizer levels (cyanuric acid)
below 30 ppm (mg/l)
Alkali content (AC)
between 80 ppm and 120 ppm
Water hardness (WH)
less than 60°f
