13. USEFUL INFORMATION ABOUT SCARPAVAPOR®
PLUS OZONE PRODUCTION
The Mod. Scarpavapor Plus machine produced by Bieffe srl is equipped with an ozone generating
lamp.
The following tests were carried out:
Ozone production at the open air:
The test took place: at the open air, 450 mt of hight, 80% of humidity
Ozone production: 450mg/hour
Ozone production in a closed tank of one litre:
Place of the test: lamp placed in a closed one litre tank with a litre/min airflow.
Ozone production: 20mg/min, or 1200mg/hour
We consider Bisbini’s research on the effects of ozone: positive in the neutralization of odors
from organic substances to 0,03 ppm vol.
The weight of Ozone is equal to 1 ppm vol = 2,145 mg/lt
In order to neutralize the organic substances we need 0,03 ppm vol = 0,064 mg/lt
According to the two above mentioned tests, in one hour 0,03 ppm from 7000 to 18750 litres of
air can be saturated.
Considering the internal volume of Scarpavapor Plus drying compartement, of 210 lt, in less of
30 minutes it is possible to neutralize odors from organic substances (according to the Bisbini
study).
Disinfectant and deodorant power in the air

: positive in concentration 0.04 - 0.06 ppm vol.

concentration 0.04 ppm vol.

: positive on Serratia mercescens

: positive on bacteria and mold in 0.1 ppm vol.

: inhibit the growth of fungus.
•
Ceccacci
: positive in tolerable concentration for humans.

Watson
: positive in odour elimination from the human body in 0.015 ppm vol. or other
food subtances and tobacco smoke.
•
Bisbini
: positive in neutralizing odours from organic substances in 0.03 ppm vol.
•
Durazzo
: positive in neutralizing odours coming from human body in military dormitories
in 0.01 - 0.02 ppm vol.

Scassellati-Sforzolini
: destroys carbon monoxide inside garages from 53% to 67% in con
