BEZZERA MAGICA - MITICA
4 – MACHINE INSTALLATION
4.1 Warnings
Installation must be carried out by qualified per-
sonnel, according to the instructions supplied by
the manufacturer and in compliance with current
laws.
The machine must be positioned and installed
in a place where use and maintenance are per-
formed exclusively by qualified personnel. The
machine can be used in places set up for staff
kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working
environments; holiday farm houses; by clients in
hotels, motels and other types of accommoda-
tion; bed and breakfast settings; etc.
4.2 Preparation of system for instal-
lation
Prepare the machine’s support on a flat horizon-
tal, even, dry, smooth, sturdy, stable surface po-
sitioned at such a height that the cup warming
surface is over 150 cm from the ground.
Do not use water jets, or install in places where
water jets are used.
To guarantee regular operation, the device must
be installed in places where the temperature is
b5 °C and +32 °C and the humidity
does not exceed 70%.
If the machine is exposed to temperatures below
+ 0 °C, proceed as follows:
- ensure that the machine has passed 24 hours
in a place where temperature is higher than +
15 °C before turning it on.
The machine is powered by electricity and it needs
the following to operate:
- connection to mains electricity.
- connection to mains water.
- connection to drainage circuit.
4.2.1 Connection to mains electricity
Warnings:
- The system must be created in compliance with
current laws and earthed.
The machine is supplied with an electric power
cord fitted with a plug.
4.2.2 Connection to the water mains
(R version/TOP-MAINS)
For the connection to the mains, refer to all natio-
nal laws and regulations.
Make sure that the water supply line is connected
to a drinking water network with operating pres-
sure between 0 and 6 bar (0 - 0.6 MPa).
If the water network has pressures above 6 bar
(0,6 MPa), install a pressure reducer.
Provide a water shut-off valve upstream of the
machine’s connection.
The water inlet pipe (Fig. 01; pos. 4) is supplied
threaded with G 3/8" threading.
4.2.3 Connection to drainage circuit
(R version)
Connect a rubber pipe (Fig. 01; pos. 13) with an
internal diameter of 10 mm to the connection,
provided on the machine's drain well, to a pre-
viously prepared open syphon drain.
4.3 MITICA Version “TOP”
The "TOP" version is available only for the espresso
coffee machine MITICA and can be used in TANK
or MAINS mode.
The water coming from the tank (TANK mode) or
from the water supply line (MAINS mode) is sent in
the boiler and the exchanger through a pump, de-
pending on the version.
Warnings:
- The espresso coffee machine MITICA "TOP"
version has no exhaust pipe (Fig. 01; pos. 13).
Periodically check the discharge tray and emp-
ty it of the water contained in it.
- Keep the details needed for the transforma-
tion in order to restore, in future, the TANK or
MAINS mode.
The transformation from TANK mode to MAINS
mode or vice versa involves a variation of pressu-
re detected by the pump pressure gauge (Fig. 01;
pos. 15), which is possible to restore by acting on
the adjustment fitting (Fig. 12; pos. 1) as descri-
bed in paragraph 4.3.3 of this manual.
4.3.1 MITICA “TOP-MAINS” Mode
The machine is delivered in TANK mode; to tran-
sform it into MAINS mode proceed as follows:
- Make sure that the machine is not connected to the
electricity mains and that is cold in all its parts.
