2-6. ABOUT DAILY CALORIE REQUIREMENTS
All food provides calories and all calories provide energy. The human body uses the energy
to live, breathe and carry out every day activities. Men consume more energy than women.
In general, men require 5-10% more energy than women with the exception of pregnant or
breastfeeding women whose daily calorie intake ensures mother and child are in good health.
Based on your age, height and gender, the BewellConnect® scales will tell you how many calo-
ries you need every day to achieve a healthy weight.

3-2. PRECAUTIONS BEFORE USE
- The appliance is not suitable for pregnant women, people with a pacemaker, people on dialy-
sis, people with an implant (e.g. prosthetics, contraceptive implants, pin, breathing apparatus)
as the appliance may malfunction. Please speak to your doctor if you have any questions.
- The appliance is not suitable for children aged under 10 to calculate body fat, water mass and
bone mass. Do not leave children unattended when using the appliance.
- The appliance is not suitable for people aged over 100 to calculate body fat, water mass and
bone mass.
- The appliance is not suitable for professional athletes or bodybuilders (intensive bodybuilding).
Results displayed may be inaccurate due to physiological variations, muscle density and
athletes’ hydration levels. Please speak to your doctor if you have any questions.
- Use the scales on a sturdy, flat non-slip surface (e.g. not on a rug).
- Only stand on the scales when
0:0
appears on the screen.
- You must be barefoot (no shoes or socks) or else the result may not be displayed or may be unreliable.
- Weight and body mass varies throughout the day. We recommend you weigh yourself before
meals for comparable results. It is advisable to analyse weight and body mass at the same time
every day, preferably on an empty stomach.
- The results displayed by this appliance are for reference only and not provided for medical
purposes. If your results are higher or lower than normal, please ask your doctor for advice.
3-3. SCALES USER GUIDE
The BewellConnect® scales have two modes:
- Weight Mode
- Impedancemeter (Weight and Calculation Mode : body fat, muscle, water and bone mass and
daily calorie requirements).

Weight unit selection
Turn appliance on. When

appears, press the
UNIT
button on the back of the appliance to
selection Kilos, Pounds or Stones.
Weight mode
Stand on the scales. The scales turn on.
0:0
appears on the screen followed by your weight. The
numbers flash then stabilise and stay on.
If you want to weigh yourself without selecting a profile, the scales will only display weight.
If you create your profile, you will be able to view the health indicators measured by the scales dis-
played twice in this order: weight, FAT% (body fat percentage), TBW% (total water mass percentage),
Muscle mass, Bone mass, BMI (body mass index), Kcal (daily calories requirements to maintain weight).
