operAtion - using for the first time
Before using the iron for the first time begin by ironing a piece of old fabric to verify that the soleplate and
water reservoir are clean. Repeat this when the iron has not been used for a period of time.
The appliance may emit a little smoke and a characteristic smell when you switch it on for the first time.
This is normal, and will soon stop. Make sure the appliance has sufficient ventilation.
operAtion - selecting the mains voltage
1. Verify that the mains voltage is in agreement with one of the two voltages
specified on the appliance’s type plate. Do not use the appliance if this is
not the case.
2. Set the mains-voltage switch to the required position: 115 Volt or 230 Volt
(see figure 2).

operAtion - filling the reservoir with water
1. Fold the handle outwards. When folding the handle outwards, a
clicking noise must be heard to indicate that the handle is secure.
2. Use one hand to move the slide backwards and use your other
hand to carefully remove the water reservoir (see figure 3).
3. Remove the plug from the water reservoir and .ll the reservoir with
clean tap water.
4. Fit the plug to the water reservoir.
5. Dry the exterior of the water reservoir with a dry cloth.
6. Place the water reservoir back on the iron. When replacing the
reservoir, a clicking noise must be heard to indicate that the
reservoir is secure.
