63039BA26, Rev. 03, 07/2018

Installation

Observe local regulations and install in accordance with manufacturer's specifi-

cations and the relevant standards and rules.

Observe installation instructions of threaded joints (conduits, adapters and ca-
ble glands).

Do not operate the device outside of its electrical, thermal and mechanical pa-
rameters.

Thoroughly  install the housing cover and the threaded joints  (cable glands,

adapters and conduits) to maintain the integrity of the flamepaths and the de-
gree of protection of the housing.

Also observe the installation instructions for the threaded joints.

The o-ring between the housing cover and socket must be inserted for sealing.

The base must be completely screwed to the housing.

The detector is designed that it does not need to be connected to the local po-

tential equalization. If electrostatic charging cannot be excluded, the detector
must be connected to earth according local requirements.

Use suitable connecting cable for the ambient conditions.

Connecting cables (conductors and insulation) must be suitable for a continuous
service temperature ≥

T

a

 +20 K.

Before the use of connection cables, they have to be checked for the possibility

of gas migration, especially if changes of the ambient and/or operating condi-
tions can occur (see also NEC, CEC or IEC 60079-14). For NEC and CEC installations
sealing at enclosure must be provided.

Connected lines must be strain-relieved.

The detectors are to be used exclusively for fixed location installation.

Devices that were used in "non-hazardous areas" must not be used in hazardous
areas.
