1 GENERAL INFORMATION
1 .1 General precautions
b
After removing the packing, check the integrity and
completeness of the contents. If they do not corre-
spond, contact the
B
agency that sold the unit.
b
This product must be installed by a legally qualified
heating engineer. On completion of the installation,
the installer must issue the owner with a declara-
tion of conformity confirming that the installation has
been completed to the highest standards in com-
pliance with the instructions provided by
B
in this
instruction manual, and that it conforms to all appli-
cable laws and standards.
b
The installation area must be dry. Respect the mini-
mum distances for maintenance and installation.
b
The
B
IDRA HP
boiler must be destined for the use
for which it was expressly manufactured by
B
.
B
accepts no responsibility, either contractual or
extra contractual, for damage to persons, animals or
property arising from incorrect installation or adjust-
ment, maintenance or improper use.
b
Should water leak from the unit, disconnect the boiler
from the mains electrical supply and close the water
supply, and urgently call the
B
Technical Service
Centre or professionally qualified personnel.
b
Maintenance on the boiler must be performed at least
once per year.
b
If the boiler is not used for a long period, proceed as
follows:
-Set the master switch on the system to OFF
-Empty the solar circuit (if present) and the thermal
system
-Close the water system interception devices.
b
If the boiler is part of a solar system, mix anti-free-
ze (glycol propylene), available separately, with wa-
ter in a variable percentage (30÷50%), following the
instructions described in the
B
setting up and
maintenance manual.
b
Always fill the solar system (if present) with the glycol/
water mix in the percentage indicated in the
B
setting up and maintenance manual.
b
This instructions booklet is an integral part of the unit
and consequently must be kept with care and must
ALWAYS accompany the unit, even when this is tran-
sferred to another owner or user or transferred onto
another system. If it gets damaged or lost, request
another copy from the local
B
Technical Service
Centre.
1 .2 Fundamental safety rules
The use of products that use of electricity and water re-
quires the observation of some fundamental safety rules
such as:
a
The use of the unit by unassisted disabled persons or
children is forbidden.
a
It is forbidden to touch the boiler if barefoot and with
parts of the body that are wet or humid.
a
It is forbidden to clean or perform any technical in-
tervention before disconnecting the boiler from the
mains power supply, setting the master switch on the
system and that on the boiler control panel to “OFF”.
a
It is forbidden to modify the safety or adjustment units
without authorisation and the indications of the boiler
manufacturer.
a
It is forbidden to pull out or twist the electric cables
coming out of the boiler, even when disconnected
from the mains power supply.
a
It is forbidden to expose the boiler to atmospheric
agents because it is not designed for outdoor ope-
ration.
a
It is forbidden to abandon and leave the packaging
material within the reach of children as it can be a
source of risk.
a
In the case of a loss of pressure in the solar system
it is forbidden to top up with just water, as there is a
risk of freezing.
a
It is forbidden to use connection or safety devices
which are untested or unsuitable for use in solar sy-
stems (expansion tanks, pipelines, insulation).
1 .3 Description of the appliance
B IDRA HP
storage cylinders are designed for use in
systems with heat pumps and guarantee excellent heat
transfer thanks to a special, larger coil.
They are internally vitrified to permit the production of do-
mestic hot water (DHW), and have external insulation in the
form of 50 mm thick rigid polyurethane.
B
IDRA HP
storage cylinders can be fitted with an ad-
ditional (optional) heat exchanger to integrate a solar col-
lector heating circuit.
They come complete with sensor sockets, a magnesium
anode and a fitting for the installation of an (optional)
electrical heating element.
