3. Installation
3.1 General rules
The installation of an oil burner should be carried out in accordance with
current regulations and instructions.
The supplier/installer of the burner must therefore be aware of all regulations
so that the installation meets the requirements of the local authorities.
Installation, assembly and adjustment must be performed to obtain the best
possible function. Only oil suitable for the burner should be used and then in
combination with a suitable oil filter mounted before the burner oil pump.
If the burner replaces an existing burner, the oil filter must be replaced or
cleaned.
3.1.1 Instructions
It is the installer’s responsibility to instruct the user in detail in the functions of
the burner and the entire system.
3.1.2 Inspection and maintenance
The system must be maintained at the interval specified in the service
schedule. If the burner is in a dirty environment, service should be done at
more frequent intervals.
3.1.3 Start up
To obtain the correct setting, flue gas analysis and temperature measurement
must be performed. There is otherwise a risk of soot formation, poor
efficiency or condensation precipitating in the chimney. Adjustment of the
system must take place at start-up. The temperature in the chimney must be
at least 60 °C at 0.5 m down in the chimney to prevent condensation.
