4.2 Transmission Module 

This module contains the stepping motor, which provides enough power 

and torque to drive the film/slide holder. 

 

Figure 4-4 Transmission Gear Diagram 

The gear transmission diagram is shown as above and gear numbers are 

also listed. The purpose of the gear transmission is to reduce the speed of 

the stepping motor. The transmission ratio is (110/15)*(92/15); pulley is 

of diameter 12.93mm; stepping angle of motor is 3.75 degree. Thus we 

could have 2700dpi resolution as calculated as above.
