Raising and Lowering Vehicles
Keep the following in mind when operating your Lift:
•
Be safe
. Make sure to check for people, pets, and objects that might be in the path of the Lift as
you raise or lower it. If there is something in the way, stop the Lift and move it out of the way.
Watch the Lift carefully as it raises and lowers.
⚠
DANGER
Pay careful attention when you are raising or lowering your Lift. If a person or pet
gets stuck under the Lift, they could be injured or, in rare cases, killed.
•
The Power Disconnect Switch exists for a reason
. We hope you never have to use it, but
if something unexpected happens, use the
Power Disconnect Switch
to immediately stop the
Lift from moving.
•
Get what you need out of the Vehicle before lifting it
. It is frustrating to raise a Vehicle
and then realize you left something inside.
Never raise your Lift with people in the
Vehicle
.
•
Make sure the Vehicle is balanced
. If there is extra weight on one end or the other, remove
it or balance it before raising the Vehicle.
•
Center the Vehicle’s wheels on the Runway
. Centered wheels keep the Vehicle balanced.
To raise a Vehicle:
1.
Make sure the Runways are on the ground. If they are not, move them to the ground.
2.
Drive the Vehicle onto the Runways.
Make sure all four Wheels are fully on the Runways, as close to the center of the Runways as
possible.
Put the Vehicle into park and put on the parking brake. If your Vehicle has a manual transmission,
place the transmission in first gear, not in neutral.
Chock the Tires.
3.
Walk around the Lift to make sure no obstructions will interfere with the Vehicle being lifted.
4.
Press and hold the
Up
button.
5.
When the Runways get to the desired locking position, go up a little bit more, then release the
Up
button and
Press and hold
the Lowering Handle.
The Runways engage on the most recently passed Safety Locks.
How do you know if one of the four Safety Locks, has for some reason, not engaged? If this
happens, the non-engaged corner of the Lift will continue to go down, while the others stay where
they are. This results in a Runway that is not flat.
Always check to make sure that all four Safety Locks are engaged at the same height before
working under or near the raised Vehicle.
⚠
WARNING
Only leave your Lift either engaged on Safety Locks or fully lowered.
6.
With the Runways engaged on the Safety Locks, check around the Vehicle to make sure
everything looks good.
If you see anything wrong, fix it before anyone gets near the Runways or goes under them.
