External test
The alarm type is coded by the bits 0 to 2. The bits 3 and 4 are reserved and always have the value
0. Bit 5 usually has the value 0 and represents the digital value of the status (this column is rele-
vant for the SMI472 only).
Bit 6 or 7 is usually set when an internal or external test has been completed. Other values are
reserved. The complete byte is calculated from the sum of the alarm type and the test type.
