A file system check shows
a file system with 0 files, 0
blocks, or 0 free.
1. Verify the disk partition was adequate. See “Initializing
the Hard Disk Drives” in Chapter 9, ‘‘Installing Base
System Software,” in your platform system maintenance
book.
2. Restore the system software from the mkimage backup
tape. See “Performing a System Restoration” in
Chapter 3, “Common System Procedures,” in your
platform system maintenance book.
If no backup is available, reload the system software.

Chapter 10, ‘‘Installing the I

maintenance book.
The system hangs after a
reboot and the screen is
blank.
1. Check the diskette drive and confirm that it is empty.
2. Check the power connections.
3. Check the power supply by watching for hard disk
access with the disk access light.
4. Reboot the system. See “Rebooting the UNIX System,”
in Chapter 3, “Common System Procedures,” in your
platform system maintenance book.
