Multiviewer Cabling
This chapter shows how to interconnect the multiviewer with its associated equipment.
Cabling Diagram
Cabling diagram for a Kaleido-IP X310 with two additional DATA ports (LAN5–LAN6, not connected). The Kaleido-IP
X110 rear panel is identical, except for LAN5 and LAN6, which are not available for this model.
Commissioning the Multiviewer
Connect the multiviewer as follows.
1 With the Kaleido-IP frame installed in its designated rack position, power up the frame.
The multiviewer starts up. The startup sequence takes approximately four minutes.
2 Connect your Kaleido-IP’s gigabit Ethernet port LAN1 to the dedicated 1000Base-T (or
100Base-T) Ethernet switch associated with your
management
network, and connect
LAN2 to the switch associated a
data
network (see above).
You will use the first port (gigabit LAN1) to manage your system (e.g. by using XEdit,
and XAdmin), and direct all high-bitrate data (e.g. MPEG2 streams) to the other ports
