4.2.1 DC current measurement
1. Turn s elector s witch (2) to “200 A / 400 A “ / UNITEST
Clamp Adapter CHB 10 “200 A“.
UNITEST Clamp Adapter CHB 10:
Connect the UNITEST Clamp Adapter CHB 10 to a Multimeter
i.e. a UNITEST Digital Multimeter Order No. 93428 and select
the correct range.
2. Pre ss the b utton “ZERO“, and make s ure that “0.000“ i s di s -
played.
3. Open the clamp, and clo s e it round the conductor. Make s ure
that the clamp properly encircle s the conductor, and that there i s
no air gap b etween the jaw s .
For a po s itive reading, the current mu s t b e flowing in the direction
of the arrow on the clamp.
If the di s play i s not vi s i b le during mea s urement, pre ss the “HOLD“
b utton (3) to retain the di s play. The clamp can then b e removed
from the conductor and the s tored value read. ( Clamp Meter CHB
15 and CHB 35 only).

The mea s urement i s not correct, the reading will b e zero, b ecau s e the s um of all
current s i s zero (Kirchhoff' s 1 s t. Law). However, with thi s circuit and a s en s itive
clamp meter (for example, the UNITE S T Leackage Current Clamp Meter CHB 3,
Order No. 9 3481), the Leackage current of the machine can b e mea s ured.
