Inserting the Filter
1. Open
the
fi
lter compartment (

) .
2. Place
the
fi
lter insert into the
fi
lter compartment if necessary.
3. Insert a paper
fi
lter (1x4) or similar
fi
lter into the
fi
lter insert (

).
4. If the device is to be used with coffee powder,
fi
ll the
fi
lter.
5. Place the lid on the
fi
lter insert.
6. Close
the
fi
lter compartment again. It must engage.
Setting the Number of Cups
Use the dial
(

) to set the number of cups you want (2 – 10 cups). This setting is only
required for making coffee with coffee beans.
“Added Flavour” Function
When making coffee with coffee beans, you can choose between mild coffee and strong coffee.
When the coffee machine is activated, the setting
MILD
(

) is automatically selected. The control
lamp in the
MILD
button lights up. If you want to have stronger coffee, press the
STARK
(strong)
button (

). This extends the brewing period and your coffee will have a stronger
fl
avour. The
control lamp in the
STARK
(strong) button lights up.
The “added
fl
avour” function remains saved until the
MILD
button has been pressed again
or the device has been disconnected from the mains power.
Keep-Warm Function
The device has an automatic keep-warm function. The hotplate (

) remains switched on for
approx. 35 minutes after each brewing process.
To end the keep-warm function prematurely, press the
ON / OFF
button (

).
Drip Stop
The device has a drip stop (

) which prevents water from dripping out of the
fi
lter insert when
the glass jug (

) has been removed from the device.
When the device is in operation, the
fi
lter compartment (
12
) must be closed and the glass jug
with the lid placed on it must be placed beneath the
fi
lter compartment. The lid of the glass jug
pushes the drip stop upwards and the coffee can
fl
ow from the
fi
lter through the lid into the glass
jug.
During the brewing process, the glass jug
must not be removed from the device for longer
than 30 seconds
as otherwise the
fi
lter could over
fl
ow.
