Calling up SMS fast access
function
In the SMS fast access function, the
SMS messages that have been received
(stored on the SIM card) are displayed in
chronological order. The SMS received
last will be first in the list.

Start the telephone mode.

Select the
entry.

Select the
SMS
entry.
The SMS fast access function appears.
Reading SMS
!
Open the SMS fast access function.
!
Select the SMS that you want to read.
!
Confirm your selection by pressing
the rotary control/ push button
.
The text of the SMS is displayed. In ad-
dition, you will be provided with infor-
mation on the date and time sent as well
as on the sender’s details (the name if
available, otherwise the number).

Turn the rotary control/push button
to scroll through the message.

Notes:
•
Read SIM card
may be displayed until
the data of the SIM card has been im-
ported.
• If there are no SMS present on the
SIM card,
No SMS
is displayed.
• If possible, the sender’s name is dis-
played instead of the phone numbers
(provided it is available on the SIM
card or in the address book).
• Unread SMS are displayed at the top
of the list and identified by the
symbol.

Notes:
• You can have the SMS read aloud by
selecting the
Read out
entry.
• By selecting the
Options
entry you can
switch to the functions described in
“Options for SMS read aloud” on
page 127.
• Your Cascade is not able to display
binary SMS (e.g. MMS).
If such a message is received, it will
appear as an SMS without text.
