2.4. MACHINE ASSEMBLY
2.4.1 FITTING THE STEERING WHEEL
Position the machine on the flat and align the front
wheels.
1)
Fit the steering wheel column extension (fig.5
part 1) on the shaft (part 3) and secure it with
the screw (part 2) and the nut provided. Tighten
well.
2)
Position the steering wheel (fig.6 part 1) on the
extension (part 3) and secure with the screw (fig.6
part 2) and the nut provided. Tighten well.
2.4.2 FITTING THE CASING
1)
Remove the 6 screws (fig.7) to separate the
two half-shells of the casing (fig.7 part 1).
2)
Position the rear half-shell (part with key switch,
fig.7 part 1), blocking the fastening tangs in the
support base (see fig.8). Keep the switch power
plugs handy (fig.7 part 2).
3)
Connect the two plugs (fig.9 part 1-2)
4)
Position the front half-shell and make the screw
fastening holes (fig.10 part 1) coincide.
5)
Reposition and tighten the 6 screws (fig.11).
2.4.3 FITTING THE SEAT
1)
Fit the seat (fig.12 part 1) on the deck, with the
screws (fig.12 part 2).
2)
Before tightening the 4 screws (fig.13 part 1)
adjust the forward/backward position of the seat,
to best suit the driver.
2.4.4 FITTING THE BAG-HOOK SPRING
1)
Loosen the screws (fig.14 part 1) and remove
the rear cover by pressing from inside.
2)
Cut the plastic straps (fig.15 part 1) to free the
hook and spring.
3)
Secure the two spring hooks (fig.16 part 1) in
the two holes indicated by the arrows (fig.16).
4) Reposition the cover by pressing with your han
-
ds and securing with the screws (fig.17 part.1).
2.4.5 FITTING THE GRASS
COLLECTION BAG
The bag frame (fig.18 part 1) is pre-assembled
and the screws and nuts for complete fitting are
secured at the points indicated by the arrows in
fig.18.
1)
Loosen the screws and nuts so as to be able to
open and fasten the frame (fig.19).
2)
Tighten all the screws and the nuts of the fra
-
me.
3)
Fit the frame inside the bag (fig.20 part 1).
4)
Secure all the plastic profiles (fig.21) to the fra
-
me tubes, with the aid of a screwdriver (fig.22).
5)
Fasten the handle (fig.23 part 1) to the bag fra
-
me, using the screws provided (fig.23 part 2).
6)
Fit the bag overturning lever in the housing pro-
vided as shown in fig. 24, after removing the screw
and locknut (fig.25 part 1)
7)
Fasten the rod with the screw and nut (fig.25
part 1) once positioned.
8)
Secure the bag to the machine (fig.26)
2.4.6 PREPARING ANDFITTING THE
BATTERY
(for models with power start only)
IMPORTANT
The battery is housed in a
box (fig.3 part 10) together with the bottle
of electrolytic fluid, pre-dosed separately
for the 6 elements.
HAZARD: FILLING SYSTEM
Before filling the battery, carefully read the
following instructions relating to “how to
add electrolytic fluid”
# The electrolytic fluid is a solution of
sulphuric acid.
HAZARD: Sulphuric acid is poisonous
HAZARD: Sulphuric acid is corrosive
Sulphuric acid can cause blindness or
severe burns.
Wear protective eyewear.
In case of eyes or skin coming into
contact with the electrolytic fluid, im
-
mediately rinse the eyes and/or skin
with running water for at least 15 mi
-
nutes and then see a doctor as soon
as possible.
HAZARD: Keep out of reach of chil
-
dren.
HAZARD: Do not detach or cut the alu
-
minium blades that seal the 6 bottle
elements.
HAZARD To start the battery, the ope
-
rator must:
1)
Take the battery out of the box and rest it on a
sturdy surface. Take off the sticker closing the 6
elements.
2)
Position the bottle of electrolytic liquid
above the battery holes (fig.27 part 2),
