reasons of safety and authorisation regulations (CE). Do not open/disassemble!
Contains no customer-serviceable parts.
Maintenance, setup or repair works must only be carried out by a specialist/speci-
alist workshop who is familiar with the related hazard and applicable regulations.
• The product is designed in protection class I; it must only be connected to, and
operated at, an isolated ground socket.
• The mains socket to which the product is connected must be easily accessible.
Alternatively, an all-pole separator for disconnecting from the mains voltage (e.g.
earth leakage circuit breaker) must be used.
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children. Be specially
careful if children are around. Children cannot see the danger arising from incorrect
use of electrical devices. Children might try to push objects through the socket ope-
nings of the product, for example. There is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
Furthermore there is a high risk of injuries due to hot surfaces!
• Do not carelessly leave the packaging material lying around since this may
become a dangerous toy for children.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
drops, even from a low height.
b) Place of installation
• The product must only be used in dry indoor places, it must not get damp or wet!
Never install the product in direct vicinity of a bath, shower, bathroom or similar.
Lethal hazard due to electric shock!
• The product is only suitable for installation at a vertical, smooth, sufficiently big
surface (wall). The product must only be installed and used in a certain position
(see chapter “Installation”)
• Maintain a sufficient distance from easily flammable materials and items (e.g.
curtains), see chapter “Installation”.
• Never install the product above or directly next to a mains socket.
• Never use the product in vehicles of any kind or similar mobile locations or rooms.
Installation of the product is only admissible in indoor locations. Only use the
product when it is firmly mounted/steady.
• The power cable must not be pinched or damaged by contact with sharp edges.
Do not place any objects on the cable, and do not allow it to become kinked. Install
the cable where no one can stumble over it and the plug is easily accessible. Do
not install the mains cable under carpets or the like.
The mains cable is not heat-resistant; never install it above, next to or behind the
product! Always let the cable hang down.
• Do not install the device in environments where there are high levels of dust,
flammable gases, vapours or solvents. There is a danger of fire and explosion!
c) Use and operation
• Never plug in or unplug the plug-in power unit with damp or wet hands. There is a
risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
• At initial start-up (or if the product was stored for a long period of time), heated
housing elements might cause unpleasant odours for some time. If you experience
this, ventilate the room where the freeze protection is set up.
• Only pull the mains plug out of the socket by gripping the intended gripping sur-
faces; never pull the mains plug by grasping and pulling the cable!
• Unwind the mains cable completely during operation. If the cable is not unwound
completely, it can cause overheating; danger of fire!
• Do not use the product when it is damaged (e.g. housing, mains cable). A defective
connecting cable may only be replaced by a specialist. There is a risk of a life-
threatening electric shock!
• Always pull the mains plug out of the mains socket before cleaning the product, or
when the product is not to be used for a while.
• Always leave a suitable distance to combustible or easily flammable materials or
objects (curtains, doors, furniture etc.). If the distance is too small, there is a risk
of fire. Never operate the product inside cabinets or other small enclosed rooms.
Fire hazard!.
Never cover the product!
• Never pour any liquids on or next to the product. It can cause fire or perilous
electric shock danger. If liquids get into the device, immediately isolate the mains
socket (fuse/automatic circuit breaker/ELCB), then separate the mains plug from
the mains socket and consult an expert. Do not operate the device anymore.
• Do not insert objects into the housing openings; lethal hazard due to electric shock!
• The product becomes very hot after only a short operation duration; risk of burning!
• Only use the appliance in a moderate climate, never in a tropical climate.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into
a warm one. Condensation water that forms might destroy the device. Moreover,
there is danger of electric shock. Allow the appliance to reach room temperature
before switching it on. Wait until the condensation has evaporated. This might take
several hours. Only after this should it be plugged in to the mains supply and put
into use.
