•
Do not move the humidifier when it is switched on.
•
Do not pour any medicines or other similar liquids into the humidifier.
c) Electrical safety
• Before connecting to the mains, make sure that your local AC mains voltage matches the
specifications on the nameplate.
• The device was constructed according to protection class II. Only a proper mains socket
(230 V/AC, 50 Hz) of the public supply net must be used as voltage source.
•
Never pour any liquids over electrical devices or put objects filled with liquid right next to the
device. If liquid or an object enters the interior of the device nevertheless, first power down the
respective socket (e.g. switch off circuit breaker) and then pull the mains plug from the mains
socket. Discontinue use and take the product to a specialist repair centre.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into a warm
one. The condensation generated could destroy the product. Allow the product to reach room
temperature before connecting it to the power supply and putting it to use. This may take
several hours.
• The mains outlet must be located near to the device and be easily accessible.
• Never pull the mains plug from the socket by pulling at the cable. Always pull it from the mains
socket using the intended grips.
• Unplug the mains plug from the mains socket if you do not use the device for an extended
period of time.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket during thunderstorms.
• Make sure that the mains cable is not squeezed, bent, damaged by sharp edges or put under
mechanical stress. Avoid excessive thermal stress on the mains cable from extreme heat or
cold. Do not modify the mains cable, otherwise it may be damaged. A damaged mains cable
can cause a deadly electric shock.
• Do not touch the mains cable if it is damaged. First, power down the respective mains socket
(e.g. via the respective circuit breaker) and then carefully pull the mains plug from the mains
socket. Never use the product if the mains cable is damaged.
• A damaged mains cable may only be replaced by the manufacturer, a workshop commissioned
by the manufacturer or a similarly qualified person, so as to prevent any danger.
• Never plug in or unplug the mains plug when your hands are wet.
Setup
•
Place the humidifier on a stable, level, and water-resistant surface away from sources of heat.
•
Do not place the humidifier too near to the object or part of the room that you want to humidify.
• Choose a well-ventilated location to ensure that the mist is distributed evenly throughout the room.
Important information
• The relative humidity of the room should be kept between 30 – 50 %.
• High humidity levels promote condensation, which can lead to the growth of bacteria, fungi and other
germs. Condensation can also damage furniture, walls and wallpaper. In addition, windows and walls may
steam up or even freeze over during spells of cold weather. Reduce the mist intensity to prevent damage
due to dripping water.
• To prevent excessive condensation in small rooms, ventilate the room and set the mist intensity to the
lowest setting.
Operation
•
Remove the water tank from the bottom of the humidifier.
• Turn the tank over and remove the lid by turning it anticlockwise.
•
Fill the tank with cold water. If possible, use soft or distilled water. Caution! Do not overfill the tank.
Never pour water into the tank when the humidifier is switched on.
• Place the lid back onto the tank and turn it clockwise to secure it in place.
•
Turn the tank over and insert it back into the bottom of the humidifier.
• Insert the mains plug into a mains socket.
•
Use the on/off switch to turn the humidifier on and off (
I
= on,
0
= off). The
POWER/NO WATER
LED
indicator turns green when the humidifier is switched on.
• Ensure that the spray nozzle is not directed at children, furniture or walls.
•
The humidifier will start to release mist after a few seconds.
• Adjust the mist intensity using the control wheel (between
MIN
and
MAX
) on the side of the humidifier.
Turn the control switch clockwise to increase the mist intensity, or anticlockwise to decrease the mist
intensity.
• The
POWER/NO WATER
LED indicator will turn red when the tank is nearly empty. The humidifier will
switch off automatically before the tank is empty to prevent damage to the appliance.
Avoid setting the mist intensity to maximum immediately after turning on the humidifier, as this
can lead to dripping water. Start with a lower setting and slowly increase the mist intensity,
ensuring that there is no dripping water.
•
Turn off the humidifier using the on/off switch (
0
= off).
•
Fill the tank and insert it into the humidifier in the correct position (see start of "Operation" section above).
•
Turn the humidifier back on using the on/off switch (
I
= on).
