• Choose appropriate tools, meters and, if necessary, personal protective equip-
ment
• Evaluation of the measurement results
• Selection of the electrical installation material to ensure the shutdown conditions
• IP protection types
• Installation of the electrical installation material
• Type of mains supply network (TN system, IT system, TT system) and the con-
nection conditions that follow from them (classical earthing, protective earthing,
required additional measures, etc.)
If you do not have the expertise required for the connection, do not install it
yourself, but entrust the work to a qualified electrician.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not permissible
for safety and approval reasons.
• The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children! There is
danger of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Every socket of the garden socket is equipped with a child lock. Only when the
prongs of a mains plug are placed in both openings of the mains socket at the
same time will the child-lock mechanism release the opening.
Nevertheless, take special caution when children are around. Children cannot re-
cognise the danger arising from the incorrect use of electrical devices. There is a
risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Please handle the product carefully. The product can be damaged if crushed,
struck or dropped, even from a low height.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices that are
connected to this product.
• If you have doubts about how the product should be operated or how to safely
connect it, consult a trained technician.
• Maintenance, adjustment and repair work may be carried out only by an expert or
a specialist workshop.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating instructions,
please contact our technical customer service or other professionals.
b) Connection and Installation
• The product is designed according to protection class I. It must be connected
only to a mains lead with ground protection (or when using a flexible connection
cable with mains plug, the product must only be connected to a grounding mains
socket).
• The product may run only on mains voltage (see section „Technical Data“). Never
try to operate the product at another voltage, as this will result in the destruction
of the product.
• The product complies with protection type IP44 and can be mounted and operated
in outdoor areas. However, the correct operating position must be considered; the
garden socket must be positioned or installed only vertically at a 90° angle to a
level horizontal surface. The base must point towards the ground.
• During installation, all poles must be disconnected from the mains voltage via a
cut-off device (e.g. RCD).
• If the garden socket is operated using a flexible connection cable with mains plug,
the mains socket used for connection must be close to the device and easily ac-
cessible.
• Never install or operate the garden socket in areas prone to flooding or in locations
where e.g. puddles may form. Position the garden socket only in a location where
water can drain; the electrical parts must not be submerged in water in the event
of precipitation.
• Never install or operate the garden socket near above-ground or in-ground swim-
ming pools, swimming ponds or similar.
• Position the mains lead so that it is not squeezed, kinked, damaged by sharp
edges or put under stress in any other way.
c) Handling and Use
• Do not use the product in rooms with adverse environmental conditions, where
combustible gases, vapours or dust are or may be present! There is a danger of
explosion!
• Never direct a stream of water from a garden hose or a high-pressure cleaner
onto the garden socket. Position the garden socket so that water from a garden
watering system (sprinklers) cannot reach the garden socket.
• Never, touch, operate, plug in or unplug the product with damp or wet hands.
Never touch wet or damp mains plugs. There is a risk of a life-threatening electric
shock!
• Never pull a mains plug by pulling the cable from the socket. Always only use the
provided grip area.
