How to Install the Metal Rod Protectors

If your table came with pre-drilled holes for the
rod protectors, skip to the drilling steps.
If you
need to drill additional holes: place a wooden panel
of scrap wood on the outer side of the table. From
the inner side of the table, drill out the two (2) pilot
holes until they become through holes.

Temporarily affix the left and the right sides of the
rod protector onto the table with two (2) of the
longer bolts (4.75cm) and nuts.
7.
Using the drill, make two (2) pilot/blind holes for
the top and bottom bolts (pilot holes do not go all
the way through the wood).
Take care to drill straight
into the table, not at an angle!
8.
Unbolt and remove the rod protector. Place a
wooden panel of scrap wood inside the table and
continue to drill the 2 blind holes until they
become through holes. Using scrap wood should
minimize the potential for damage to the laminate
while drilling.
