F-2.2) Reassembly:
Impeller - Check lower seal to insure it is in place. To install
impeller (41), apply a thin fi lm of oil to motor shaft and slide
impeller straight onto shaft. Locate washer (11), apply thread
locking compound to screw (45) threads, thread cap screw
(45) into shaft and tighten. Rotate impeller to check for bind-
ing. Position volute (40) on motor and impeller assembly.
Place washers (47) onto screws (45), apply thread locking
compound to threads on screws (45) and insert into motor/
volute assembly and tighten. Check for free rotation of motor
and impeller. Check the gap (“A”) between the intermedi-
ate and upper portion of impeller with a feeler gauge, which
should be between .012” - .059” (0.3 - 1.5mm). Gap (“B”)
between the lower portion of the impeller and volute should
be between .012” - .059” (0.3 - 1.5mm). See Figure 4.
Cutter - The knife blade is height and angle adjustable.
Height Adjustment:
Loosen the two (2) screws (51) and
bring the upper surface of the blade as close as possible to
the lower heel of the impeller without touching and tighten
fi rmly.
Angle adjustment:
Loosen the two (2) screws (45), move
the knife (42) across so as to bring the blade fl ush up to the
point of the impeller, permitted play between .002” - .005”
(0.05 - 0.13mm), tighten fi rmly.
F-3) Junction Box and Cable Assembly:
F-3.1) Disassembly:
Loosen cable connectors (32) and (35), inspect connectors
and replace if required. Remove cable box cover (5) from
motor housing (1), by removing cap screws (19) and washers
(20). Remove cable lead wires from motor lead wires and
sensors wires from control cable by unscrewing connectors
(31) and (33). The wiring connections should be noted to
insure correct connections when reassembling. Remove
ground wire (30) from cover plate (5), by removing screw (26)
and washer (27).
F-3.2) Reassembly:
Make wire connections per Section F-3.3. Attach ground
wire (30) to cover plate (5) with screw (26) and washer (27).
Position cover plate (5) on motor housing (1), place washers
(20) on screws (19), apply thread locking compound to
screws (19) and insert into cover plate (5) and torque to 16
ft. lb. Tighten cable connectors (32) and (35) to 15 ft. lb. to
prevent water leakage.
F-3.3) Wiring Connections:
Check power cable (29) and control cable (34) for cracks or
damage and replace if required. Bring motor wires through
wire opening in top of motor housing (1), and reconnect motor
leads to power cable and sensor leads to control cable using
connectors (31) and (33) as show in Figure 5.
