5. Cabling of an SLite display

5.1

Power cabling of an SLite display

Power boxes

Barco provides several types of power boxes. Depending on the size of the SLite display you can choose to use the mono phase
power box or the custom made power box or the rental power box. The type of power box does not influence the power cabling of
the SLite display. See installation manual of the concerned power box for installation instructions.

ARNING

:

To protect against risk of fire by overloading of power cables, the amount of SLite tiles per power

source cable is limited. Never connect more than 3 SLite tiles with a power source cable.

Necessary parts

•

Power box(es) with matching cables.

•

Power linking cables.

•

Dummy power plugs

How to realize the power cabling of an SLite display ?

1. Install the power box nearby the SLite display. Ensure the power box provides as much power circuits as required to energize the

display in a safe manner. If necessary, install several power boxes. See manual of the used power box for installation instructions.

2. Connect a power source cable coming from the power box with the lower tile in a column of 3 high.

Note:

Depending on the type of used power box, a multi power cable in combination with a spider connector is inserted between
the power box and the power source cable leading to the SLite tile. See manual of the used power box to realize the
cabling between power box and SLite display.

3. Create a power branch of maximum 3 tiles by placing a power linking cable between the tiles above. Note the lowest tile is

receiving power directly from the power box via a power source cable.

4. Place a dummy power plug on the power output socket of the upper tile in the power branch.

5. Make sure that all plug holder clamps are locked firmly.

6. Repeat from step 2 until all SLite tiles are provided with power.

Example of power cabling

The example below shows the power cabling of a four by six SLite display. The rental power box is connected via a multi power
cable with a spider connector. Each spider output cable leads to a column of 3 SLite tiles. The power connection in this column is
realized with a power linking cable. Note that the unused power output socket is sealed with a dummy power plug.
