Manually submitting jobs in the PowerRip 
plot queue 

 
You can submit jobs in the PowerRip plot queue by manually copying them from the 
Ucam workstation to the Trip (using rcp or ftp) on a work directory (so not mlfdir or 
dpfdir or prxdir), and issuing the following command.

The Queueing System 
 
Usually the jobs will be submited into the PowerRip queue using UCAM. The queue 
system is started during the bootsequence. 
At startup the queue is in the “STOPPED” state, and the film type is not set. The users 
can now submit jobs (mlf, dpf or prx files) and interact with the queue through the 
UCAM system. 
A job in the queue is characterized by its number, and has a status, priority and film 
type.  
The priority is a number between 1 and 9, with 1 the highest priority. The normal 
priority is 5.  
 
It is possible to resubmit successfully plotted jobs in the plot queue.  
This is possible as long as you have not purged the plot queue, as this removes the 
successfully plotted jobs (mlf-files) out of the plot queue. Also the dpf-files must still 
be present on the original Ucam directory, because the dpf-files and prx-file are 
deleted on the PowerRip if a job is successfully plotted. 
 
 
On the PowerRip the operator can interact with the queue and monitor it using the 
command "Ripuplot". These are the different options:
