3.6 I-Luminate
About I-Luminate
I-Luminate is a patented 3 technology that increases image brightness. When I-Luminate mode is turned on,
the LED backlight of the display is smoothly boosted to the maximum value, creating the highest possible
luminance while adjusting the DICOM GSDG curve accordingly.
To switch I-Luminate on/off
• Press the Left / I-Luminate key during normal operation (while the OSD menu is not active) to switch on I-
Luminate mode.
• Press the Left / I-Luminate key again to switch off I-Luminate mode and return to normal mode.
I-Luminate mode will automatically switch off after 1 minute.
I-Luminate is only applicable for the SNEF and SPEF versions.
3.7 Viewing mode
About viewing modes
The Nio 5.8MP Gray can be used in two viewing modes:
• Diagnostic: This mode provides the full calibrated luminance and is intended for using the display for
diagnostic purposes.
• Text: In this mode, the luminance is reduced to approximately half of the luminance. This is intended for
using the display with office applications such as word processing.
Please note that text mode is not persistent. Once powered off, the display will restart in diagnostic mode.
The diagnostic mode should always be selected when the Nio 5.8MP Gray is intended to be used
for screening and diagnosis.
