4.7 Installing the RJ45 IP66 protection shells
The IP66 protection shells can be installed upon the RJ45 plug of standard UTP network cables. The network
cables used between FLX-NNI Controller and FLX-HUB must be of the type UTP cat 6. The maximum length
may not exceed 100 meter.

AUTION
:
The network cable which has to be plugged into the RJ45 socket of the FLX-HUB must be equipped
with IP66 protection shells.
How to install the IP66 protection shells on a standard UTP network cable?
1. Align the 7 parts as illustrated.

2. Slide part 1 and 3 over the RJ45 connector.
3. Place the sealing rubber (part 2) over the cable, between part 1 and part 3, and slide it into part 3.
4. Place the O-ring (part 4) over the RJ45 connector into part 3.
5. Place the long sealing rubber (part 5) over the cable between part 3 and the RJ45 plug.

6. Slide the long sealing rubber (part 5) against the RJ45 plug and then slide part 3 against the long sealing rubber.

7. Place part 6 over the RJ45 plug and fasten with part 7.

8. Fasten the back end of the shell with part 1.
