2.3 Personnel requirements

Risk of injury if personnel are not adequately qualifi ed!
If unqualifi ed personnel use the instrument, there is the risk
of injury and damage to property.
• Only allow tasks to be carried out by appropriately
qualifi ed personnel.
• Keep unqualifi ed personnel away from the instrument.
In these operating instructions qualifi cations of personnel for the various areas
of responsibility are described as follows:
Specialized personnel
Specialised personnel are personnel, who due to their specialized training, skills,
and experience, as well as knowledge of the applicable standards and regula-
tions, are capable of executing the tasks assigned to them, and of recognizing
possible hazards and avoiding them on their own.
Only skilled personnel are approved as personnel who can be expected to carry
out their work reliably. Persons whose ability to react is impaired by drugs, alco-
hol or medication, for example, are not approved.
When selecting personnel any valid regulations regarding age and occupation
must be adhered to.
2.4 Inherent hazards
In the following section residual risks are listed that may originate from the inst-
rument.
To reduce health risks and to avoid dangerous situations, the safety informati-
on presented here and the safety information in subsequent chapters of these
operating instructions must be complied with.

Life-threatening hazard due to electrical current!
There is an imminent threat to life due to electric shock if
contact is made with live parts. Damage to insulation or to
individual components can be life threatening.
• Only allow qualifi ed electricians to work on electrical
systems.
• The instrument must only be connected to an earthed
wall socket.
• If the power supply cord is damaged, immediately dis-
connect the power supply by removing the power plug
from the wall socket and initiate repairs.
• Protect instrument from external sources of heat,
liquids and moisture.
• Never pull on or clamp the power supply cord and
never keep it under permanent tension.
• The power supply cord must always be laid out with no
tension or kinks and must not be driven over.
• For all maintenance, cleaning and fault resolution work,
disconnect the instrument from the power plug.
