Operation
7.1 Safety
WARNING
WARNING!
Risk of injury due to hot surfaces!
Surfaces of components may become very hot during
operation. Contact of skin with hot surfaces causes seri-
ous burns to the skin.
• Do not hold any body parts in the hot air stream.
• Do not wear easily flammable clothing (e.g., materials
made from synthetic fibres, nylon).
• Only hold plastic parts of optical frames outside the
area being heated.
• Before removing the heat concentrator nozzle, ensure
that the surfaces have cooled down to ambient tempe-
rature.
• Wear gloves.

Risk of injury due to combustible materials in the work area!
Combustible materials near the frame heater can result in
fires.
• Do not use or store any combustible materials near the
instrument, particularly acetone products.
• Do not use the area around the instrument for storage.
NOTICE
NOTICE!
Damage to the frame heater due to overheating!
Blocking the ventilation slots above the base plate can
result in damage due to heat accumulation.
• Do not hang cloths or other materials in the air intake
area.
7.2 Switching on the instrument
Personnel: Specialized personnel
Switch the [power switch] to - I - (Fig. 17/1).

The [power switch] is used to switch the power
supply of the frame heater.
NOTICE
NOTICE!
To switch the instrument off, switch the [power
switch] to - 0 - again (Fig. 17/2).
