6. Use
This chapter will explain exactly all the procedures and operations in chronological
order that need to be done in order to operate the boot elevator “David 2” in the
correct manner, under normal circumstances.
6.1 Operation of the boot elevator type “David 2”:
PLACING THE WHEELCHAIR IN THE BOOT:
1. Open the boot lid.
2. Take the elevator arm and put it upright.
3. Turn the elevator arm outside the car and ease the cord with the
↓
button
(when doing this, make sure the cord is kept taut) until the cord is long enough to
attach the hook to the wheelchair.
4. Attach the hook to the wheelchair and check to see that it is correctly attached to
the wheelchair.
5. Hoist the wheelchair up with the
↑
button to a point above the threshold of the
boot.
6. Push the wheelchair into the boot.
7. Slowly lower the wheelchair with the
↓
button.
8. Remove the hook.
9. Tilt the elevator using the operating lever or lift the elevator in vertikal direction
and put the elevator arm on top of the wheelchair.
10. Close the boot lid of the car. You can start driving now.
TAKING THE WHEELCHAIR OUT OF THE BOOT:
1. Open the boot lid of the car.
2. Take the elevator arm and put it upright.
3. Attach the hook to the wheelchair and check to see that it is correctly attached
to the wheelchair.
4. Hoist the wheelchair up with the
↑
button to a point above the threshold of the
boot.
5. Pull the wheelchair out of the boot.
6. Put the wheelchair with the push handles on the edge of the boot and stop the
push handles so that the wheelchair comes to a vertical position. Slowly lower
the wheelchair with the
↓
button.
7. Remove the hoisting hook from the wheelchair and hoist the hook up to ± 30
cm to the end piece of the elevator arm.(keep the cord taut when doing this)
8. Tilt the elevator and put the elevator arm flat in the boot.
9. Close the boot lid.
