6.2.1 Inspection of the
fl
oat switch for the W 300
The
fl
oat switch is situated directly in the tank and is therefore a wear part.
The function and tightness of the
fl
oat switch must be inspected at regular intervals.
If the tank is already full, the
fl
oat must rise to the upper limit stop (upper ring).
In an empty tank, the rising ability of the
fl
oat can be easily tested using a beaker
fi
lled with water, or similar. To do so, raise the beaker from below over the
fl
oat - the
fl
oat must rise upwards.
If
the
fl
oat or
fl
oat switch are defective, they must be replaced since the safety of
the bath is no longer guaranteed (order no.: 3112 - black
fl
oat; 3111 - white
fl
oat;
3105 - complete
fl
oat switch).

Error analysis
SONOREX ultrasonic baths are robustly constructed and designed for a high level of
reliability.
Nevertheless, the possibility of a malfunction due to a defective component can never
be fully discounted.
The following overview of possible sources of error should serve as an aid for error
detection and elimination.
Ultrasonic bath oscillates weakly, unevenly, or noise is too loud:
- Has
fl
uid been properly degassed?
- Is it overloaded with objects to be treated?
- Uneven noises (wobbling)
Sonicate for 30 min.
Remove a few parts.
No error – slightly adjust the
fi
ll level
of the
fl
uid.
Heating system defective?
The ultrasonic bath can be readily operated
without heating.
Slight erosion visible on the tank bottom?
Natural wear.
Ultrasonic bath OK.
Strong erosion marks appear at the
tank bottom
lead to loss of power
Any malfunctions must be communicated in writing to the manufacturer.
