6.2.4 Short circuit and open circuit (TRANSDUCER)
The HF unit is open-circuit and short-circuit proof.
The "TRANSDUCER" LED indicates a short circuit or an open circuit at the HF output
on the HF unit.
During the error state, an
error signal
is emitted at the remote control connection
on the rear of the generator (see chapter 2.2.3).
During open-circuit operation, the output is blocked on the HF unit after approximately
30 s. The "CONTROL" LED is extinguished.
6.2.5 Dry running identi
fi
cation (DRY)
The HF unit is equipped with an automatic system for identifying dry running, which
generally makes it possible to avoid damage to the ultrasonic transducers, e.g. as
a result of the dropping of the liquid level in the cleaning tank.
If the liquid level above the surface of a connected ultrasonic transducer drops below
5 mm, the ultrasonic output is considerably reduced in order to avoid damage due to
operating without a “liquid load”.
If the HF unit identi
fi
es a "dry running state", the "DRY" LED lights up.
During the error state, an error signal is emitted at the remote control connection
on the rear of the generator (see chapter 2.2.3).
With some installations/con
fi
gurations on-site, it may also be possible that the dry
running indicator lights up without a dry run actually occurring. If the "DRY" LED lights
up brie
fl
y or occasionally, this is not critical. If it is permanently lit, the manufacturer
should be consulted.
Please note:
Dry running identi
fi
cation is not possible when operating a VORTEX reactor or
SONOBLOC tube reactor. During unattended operation, appropriate safety measures
should be taken in order to avoid damage caused by dry running.
