Sensor function principle
The sensor supports four sensor function principles. The
IO-Link parameter
SensorPrinciple 0x00BB
can be used
to select between diffuse energetic sensor, diffuse sensor
with background suppression, retro-reflective and through-
beam (emitter or receiver).
The sensor is factory set to energetic diffuse. To implement
the through-beam function two units are required, with one
used as the emitter and the other as receiver.
Changing the sensor function principle takes
maximum 1500 ms.
Switch mode
In IO-Link mode the switching function can be configured
using the parameter 0x003D
SwitchpointConfiguration
.
The sensor can be operated using switching mode
Single
Point
,
Window
or
Two Point
. In
Single Point Mode
only the
first switchpoint SP1 is active. In
Window Mode
both
switchpoints SP1 and SP2 are active and form a window.
In
Two Point Mode
both switchpoints SP1 and SP2 are
active, where SP1 and SP2 form the hysteresis.

Two static teach-in procedures (
Two Value Teach

) or a dynamic teach-in procedure
(Dynamic Teach)
can be used to teach the switchpoints
SP1 and SP2 in IO-Link mode.

The current status of the teach-in procedure is indicated in
the parameter

6 = reserved
7 = ERROR

Teach-in is automatically canceled 10 min. after
start.
The teach-in sequences are explained using
SP1. The same sequence applies for SP2 using
the corresponding commands.
Prerequisite:
The sensor is mounted, aligned, and in IO-Link
operation.
