The traler swtch (Power Tlt) s not to be confused
wth the Power Trm functon. The traler swtch s
to be used only when the engne s off.
The traler swtch allows the drve unt to be rased
for tralerng, beachng and launchng. To operate,
press and hold the traler swtch untl the drve unt
reaches the end of upward travel. The mechansm
that rases the lower unt wll stop operatng at the
end of the upward travel. To brng the drve unt
down nto boatng poston, push the power trm
swtch down.

The trm tabs (see Fgure 2.6.1) are dfferent from
the stern drve unt trm control. The trm tabs are
two flat plates, hinged below the water line on the
transom at the rear and are rased and lowered
hydraulcally by usng the rocker swtches located
at the helm staton.
The trm tabs are used to adjust the sdeways
lstng of the boat due to uneven loadng, a strong
cross wnd or propeller torque. The twstng effect
of propeller torque s especally pronounced when
runnng the engne at hgh horsepower output.

To correct the lstng, adjust the trm tabs to level
the boat. When the boat s level, rght to left, the
steerng effort wll be the same for rght and left
turns.

pushng the top half of the rocker swtch n one-half
second bursts untl the boat s rghted.
Usng both swtches to lower both tabs on a sde-
to-sde balanced boat wll lower the bow, when
on plane, f the rear of the boat s hghly loaded.
agan, use only short bursts of the rocker swtches
to adjust the trm.
When runnng at crusng speed, the trm tabs should
be fully up, unless the rear s heavly loaded.
In heavy followng seas or when runnng n an nlet,
best maneuverablty s obtaned wth a bow hgh
atttude. To be sure the tabs are full up, push the
bottom halves of the rockers for several seconds.
