Plane ONLY natural wood fiber. DO NOT plane MDF, plywood, laminates, or other synthetic
products.
Plane WITH the grain. Never feed end-cut or end-grained lumber into your planer.
Do not plane boards with loose or large knots, splits, cross grain or other obvious blemishes
or defects. These can damage the machine and pose a safety risk to the operator.
Keep your work area clear.
When planing long stock, get assistance to receive the workpiece from the outfeed table.
Avoid planing wood with a high water content. Wood with more than 20% moisture content
or wood exposed to excessive moisture (such as rain or snow), will plane poorly and cause
excessive wear to the cutters and motor. Excess moisture can also hasten rust and
corrosion of the planer and/or individual components.
POWER FEED RATE
The infeed and outfeed rollers power the stock through the planer while keeping boards flat and
providing a consistent rate of movement.
This planer power feed features stepless variable feed rates 0-6m/min. Use the different feed
rates as recommended below:
0-8m/min
Dimensioning Pass
8m/min-16m/min
Finishing Pass
The feed rate control on the left side of the table (Fig. 6) is
used to adjust the speed of the infeed and outfeed rollers.
The power feeding should ONLY be turned on 5 seconds
after the CUTTERHEAD MOTOR is turned on.
A.
Feed Motor On/Off Switch:
After the main motor has
been turned on for at least 5 seconds, this switch turns
the feed motor ON and OFF.
B.
Feed Speed Adjustment Knob:
Adjusting the feeding
speed after the feeding motor is on.
C.
Cutterhead Service Switch:
Turn to lock the cutterhead
for blade inspection and change.
