Safety instructions whose non-observance may cause a hazard to the unit and
its functions as well as to the surrounding are marked with the word
Signs directly attached to the unit such as
- Arrow indicating the direction of rotation
- Fluid connection signs
have to be observed and kept fully legible.
2.2
Personnel qualification and training
Persons responsible for operation, maintenance, inspection and installation
must be qualified accordingly.
The operator has to strictly regulate the responsibility, competence and moni-
toring of personnel. Insufficiently skilled personnel have to be trained and in-
structed. If required, such training measures may be implemented by the ma-
nufacturer/supplier on behalf of the operator.
Furthermore, the operator has to make sure that all personnel have fully under-
stood the content of the Operating Manual.
2.3
Dangers resulting from non-observance of the safety instructions
Non-observance of the safety instructions could pose danger to human health,
environment and unit. Non-observance could also result in the forfeiture of any
and all claims for damages. Non-observance may,
amongst others
present the
following hazards:
- Failure of important unit/system functions
- Failure of compulsory maintenance and servicing methods
- Hazards to persons through electric, mechanical and chemical
impact
- Environmental hazards caused by leaking hazardous substances
- Damage to equipment and constructions
2.4
Safety-conscious work
It is imperative to observe the safety instructions included in the Operating
Manual as well as all applicable national accident prevention regulations and
any internal operation and safety regulations of the operator.
2.5
General safety instructions for the operator/user
If cold or hot parts of the unit pose any hazards, such parts must be protected
against direct contact on site.
Covers providing protection against contact with moving parts (e.g. couplings)
must not be removed while the unit is in operation.
Hazardous media to be pumped (e.g. explosive, toxic, hot) leaking, e.g. from
the shaft sealing, must be removed in a way which ensures that neither persons
nor the environment are put at risk. All legal regulations have to be observed.
Hazards caused by electrical energy must be eliminated. For further details,
please refer to e.g. the regulations of the VDE and local energy suppliers.
Make sure bathers use the unit properly. Any use other than the intended use or
modifications to the unit without the prior approval of the manufacturer will void
any warranty and liability claims.
Make sure the water temperature does not exceed 40°C!
