5. Route vehicle lap/shoulder belt through
forward facing belt path (Fig. 30a).
6. Put weight in seat with hand to compress the
automobile seat cushion then insert the buckle
tongue into the buckle and adjust vehicle lap/
shoulder belt as tight as possible. Pull up on
buckle tongue to ensure the buckle is secure
(Fig. 30b).
7. Raise Forward Lock-off over the vehicle lap/
shoulder belt. Engage the lock tab and press
down to lock (Fig. 30c).
8. Lower flap and secure hook and loop
fasteners (Fig. 30d).
9. Attach Top Tether to a designated anchor
point. Pull Top Tether strap until webbing
strap is snug (Fig. 30e).
NOTE: Your vehicle owner’s manual will give
the anchor locations and maximum weight of
the restraint’s occupant for LATCH connections.
10. Check for movement of the restraint at the
safety belt path. The restraint should not
move more than 1 inch in any direction. If
the restraint moves more than 1 inch repeat
1. Ensure that the harness is adjusted to position 3 or 4. Only use
recline positions 5 and 4 in forward facing positions.
2. Ensure vehicle is level and that the Convertible is placed flat, and
rests on the front outer edge of the vehicle seat.
3. Lift back flap and place harness to side.
4. Unlock and lower Forward Facing Lock-off.
