10. Remove vehicle seat belt slack. Press down firmly near the
front of the base. Pull on the shoulder belt to tighten while
feeding the slack back in the retractor.
Do not pull on the belt with excessive force.
If the belt is too
tight, you will not be able to close the RAPIDLOCK.
Do
NOT lock the vehicle seat belt. The RAPIDLOCK locks
the seat belt.
11. When the slack is removed, close the RAPIDLOCK Lock-Off
until you hear a “Click”. Make sure the vehicle seat belt is
under the RAPIDLOCK Lock-Off.
The RAPIDLOCK lock-off MUST be used when installing
this seat rear-facing.
12. Test for tightness. Grab the sides of the base where the seat
belt is and slide the base side to side and front to back.
If the base moves less than 1” (2
.
5 cm), it is tight enough.
If the RAPIDLOCK lock-off can’t be used with the vehicle seat
belt, then the Lower Anchor Attachment MUST be used with
the RAPIDLOCK lock-off. See page 28 to install rear-facing with
lower anchor attachment.
