Make sure that the kettle is switched OFF
and remove the plug from the mains
electrical supply when it is not in use,
before it is cleaned or while it is being
repaired.
•
To prevent the risk of electrical shock,
never immerse the power cord, plug or
any non-removable parts of this kettle in
water or any other liquid.
•
The kettle must not be submerged in
water, as any contact with water will
cause a malfunction and/or an electric
shock. Do not use the appliance with wet
hands.
•
Use an earthed wall socket; the power
cord and plug must be dry.
•
Do not use the kettle outdoors or in a
bathroom.
•
To unplug the appliance, grasp the plug
firmly and remove it from the mains
electrical supply. DO NOT PULL ON THE
CORD.
•
Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handle
and knobs.
•
Always pour hot water slowly and
carefully without tipping the kettle too fast
to prevent splashing and spillage.
•
Always close the lid securely, otherwise
the kettle may not switch off
automatically and may spit out boiling
water.
•
Avoid contact with steam from the spout
when the water is boiling or just after it has
switched off.
•
Take care when opening the lid for
re-filling. The kettle might be hot.
•
Do not hold the switch in the ON position
as this may cause damage to the switch-
off mechanism.
Note
The kettle is intended to boil water only. Do
not use the kettle to boil any other liquid!
USING THE ELECTRIC KETTLE
BEFORE FIRST USE
1.
Remove all the packaging materials.
2.
Place the Power Base [6] on a dry level
surface.
3.
It is recommended to wash the kettle
inside before first use.
FILLING WITH WATER
1.
The kettle must be in the OFF position.
2.
Open the lid by pressing the Lid Button [2].
3.
Do not use hot water to fill the kettle. Use
only fresh cold water. Allow the cold
water to run for three to four seconds
before filling the kettle.
4.
Fill the kettle using either the spout or lid.
5.
Ensure that the water is filled to at least
the MIN level and do not exceed the MAX
level. If insufficient water is used, the kettle
may switch off, with too much water it
may boil over.
Important
Always remove the kettle from its Power Base
when filling it, to avoid water dripping into the
base.
BOILING WATER
1.
Ensure that the Power Base and the base
of the kettle are not wet. Place the kettle
onto its Power Base.
2.
Ensure that the lid is closed correctly.
3.
Connect the plug to the mains electrical
supply
.
Make sure that the voltage and
the frequency is the same as detailed on
the rating plate on the Power Base of the
kettle.
4.
To switch the kettle on, press the ON/OFF
Button [4]. The Indicator Light [3] will
illuminate with a RED light.
5.
When the water has boiled, the kettle will
switch off automatically.
6.
Then you can remove the kettle from the
Power Base.
Note
The kettle may only be used with the
accompanying Power Base.
Note
Unfold the power cord completely before
using it.
