applying pressure on the abdomen; this must be done
gently in order not to damage the film, which attaches
the coupling ring to the base plate.
For Closed pouch
Separate the pouch walls by crumpling it slightly to
introduce air into it.
Grasp the pouch by the sides
(I) .
Insert the guiding tab which is situated at the bottom of
the pouch coupling ring into one of the slots at the bottom
of the base plate coupling ring, depending on how you
want to orient the pouch
(J) .
Starting at the bottom of the coupling rings, interlock
them by pressing them together, progressing from bottom
to top
(K1, K2) over the entire circumference (L) . You can
place your thumbs under the base plate ring to achieve a
better grip and so avoid applying pressure on the abdomen;
this must be done gently in order not to damage the film,
which attaches the coupling ring to the base plate.
Lock the upper tab of the pouch coupling ring with the
corresponding security knob of the base plate
(M) .

Degassing and collecting the stools
For capsule: In addition to the continuous degassing action
provided by the filter in the folded pouch, it is possible
to manually eliminate gas from the appliance using the
degassing button located on the top of the capsule.
Degassing is recommended when:
• You feel pressure inside the capsule (tension on the skin)
(N)
• The capsule is bulging/cambered
In this case, press the degassing button located in the
upper part of the capsule cap
(O) in order to lower the
intestinal pressure (P) .
Note: The filter is inoperative during active degassing, it
is recommended that the user performs the degassing
function in privacy.
Collecting the stools is recommended when:
If the capsule stays cambered (Q) or if the tension on the
skin remains although the degassing has been performed:
• Remove the cover of the capsule (R) ;
• Open the pouch (S1, S2) ;
• Wait until complete evacuation of the stools (T) .
Security: If the pressure in the capsule cap is too great, the
capsule’s cover can open itself spontaneously to reduce the
intestinal pressure.
Closed pouch case:
Flexima® / Softima® 3S closed pouches are equipped with
a filter capable of filtering gas and odour from the stools
Note: For optimum comfort, it is recommended to replace
the used closed capsule Be 1 with a new capsule / pouch
once the stool has been collected.

Using filter protection stickers
For closed pouch only:
Before bathing or showering, stick the filter protection
sticker over the gas evacuation openings
(U) in order to
maintain filter performances. For Split cover, this must
require to lift the comfort film and to stick the filter
protection filter directly on the pouch films. After bath or
shower, remove the filter protection stickers.
