1. Introduction
Dear user,
You have chosen a high-quality foldable power wheelchair from
Bischoff & Bischoff. Thank you for trusting in us.
The Via has been designed so that it will offer you many advantages
and meet your needs. It can be folded up so that on journeys it can
be stored in a space-saving way. The Via is designed for indoor usage.
Before using your new foldable power wheelchair for the first time,
please read and follow the information in this User manual carefully.
This is an integral and necessary part of the product. Keep the User
manual within easy reach and pass it on when transferring the product.
For users who are visually impaired, this document is available as a pdf
file on our website www.bischoff-bischoff.com.
Repair and adjustment work require special technical training and must
therefore only be carried out by Bischoff & Bischoff authorised dealers.

2. Important safety information
2.1. General safety notes
•
Before setting off, check that all attachments are properly fixed in
place.
•
Before using it for the first time, practice on flat, clear ground.
Familiarise yourself thoroughly with the braking and acceleration
behaviour when driving in a straight line and into and out of
curves.
•
Please note that through the shifting of weight through body
movements or loading, the risk of tipping over to the side or back
can increase.
•
The foldable power wheelchair must only be used to transport one
person. Please respect the intended use (see Chapter 2.5).
•
When setting up or adjusting the product, be aware of the risk of
body parts being pinched.
•
Never use the foldable power wheelchair under the influence
of alcohol or other agents which affect your awareness or your
physical and mental capacities.
•
It is essential that you use ramps to get over obstacles. If it should
be necessary to lift the foldable power wheelchair over an obstacle,
then only do this without an occupant. Only lift the foldable power
wheelchair by holding fixed frame parts.
•
The foldable power wheelchair has two anti-tip wheels which
prevent the chair from tipping backwards. The anti-tip wheels are
enclosed with the product, in the bag underneath the seat (see
Chapter 3.5.3)
•
Avoid driving into obstacles without braking (furniture, steps or
similar items).
•
Always switch the control unit off whenever you are getting in or
out of the chair.
•
Upholstery parts may heat up in direct sunlight. Therefore protect
your foldable power wheelchair from direct sunlight, in order to
avoid skin injuries.
