Appendix C – Smart Averaging
The average function is generally used to smoothen the output signal. With the adjustable parameter time this function can be optimal adjusted to
the respective application. One disadvantage of the average function is that fast temperature peaks which are caused by dynamic events are
subjected to the same averaging time. Therefore those peaks can only be seen with a delay on the signal output.
The function

eliminates this disadvantage by passing those fast events without averaging directly through to the signal output.
