correct use of the product. Those designing or maintaining 

equipment that uses this product should first read and 

understand this manual.

and correct use of this product in order to prevent injury to

understand the safety guidelines before reading the rest of 

this manual.

WARNING

Before removing, mounting, or wiring the NX-S11/12/21, 

be sure to turn off the module and all connected devices. 

Failure to do so might cause electric shock.
Before starting transmission to the NX-S11/12/21, be sure 

to verify that it is wired properly. A wiring mistake can 
cause faulty operation or a dangerous accident.

CAUTION

Use a tool such as a screwdriver to mount or remove the 

DIN rail locking tab. Otherwise, you might be injured.
Do not disassemble the NX-S11/12/21. Doing so might 

cause device failure.
Do not block ventilation holes. Doing so might cause fire 

or device failure.
Do not allow wire clippings, metal shavings or water to enter 

the controller case. They might cause fire or device failure.

Do not touch live parts such as the power terminals. 

Doing so might cause electric shock.

Before wiring the NX-S11/12/21, be sure to turn the 

power OFF. Failure to do so might cause device failure.

Wire the NX-S11/12/21 properly using the specified types of 

wire and following recognized installation methods. Failure to 

do so might cause electric shock, fire or device failure.
Make sure that there are no loose connections. Failure to 

do so might cause overheating or device failure.

Supply power to all linked modules from the same power 

source. Using two or more power sources can cause fire or 

faulty operation. 
Do not use unused terminals on the NX-S11/12/21 as relay termi-

nals. Doing so might cause electric shock, fire or device failure.

Do not short-circuit the outputs. Doing so might cause 

device failure.

Firmly tighten the terminal screws to the torque listed 

in the specifications. Insufficient tightening of terminal 

screws might cause electric shock or fire.
If there is a risk of a power surge caused by lightning, 

use a surge absorber (surge protector) to prevent fire or 

device failure.
Use the NX-S11/12/21 within the operating ranges recom-

mended in the specifications (temperature, humidity, volt-

age, vibration, shock, mounting direction, atmosphere, 

etc.). Failure to do so might cause fire or device failure.
The NX-S11/12/21 does not operate for about 60 seconds after 

turning the power ON. Pay attention to this when using the 

relay output from the NX-S11/12/21 as an interlock signal.
Use the specified battery (model number: 81447729-001). 

There is a danger of fire or device failure.

When discarding this module, first remove the battery 

and then dispose of the module appropriately as indus-

trial waste, following local regulations.
When discarding the used battery, dispose of it appropri-

ately, following local regulations.

The NX-S11/12/21 should be handled by a specialist with 

expertise in electrical circuits.

If the NX-S11/12/21 is used in a manner not specified by 

the manufacturer, the protection provided by the device 

may be impaired.
If the NX-S11/12/21 is dirty, wipe it with a soft dry cloth. 

Never use an organic solvent like benzene or thinner.

Make sure that devices or equipment connected to this 

device have reinforced insulation suitable for the maxi-

mum voltages of this device’s power supply and input/

output components. Otherwise, there is a danger of fire, 

electric shock, or device failure.
