Removing Tailstock Assembly
Removing the Faceplate
Daily After Use
The tailstock can be removed to give you extra movement when turning. Remove the tailstock stop from the end of
the lathe bed and place safely aside. Release the locking handle and slide the asssembly off the lathe bed, see fig
13-14.
Insert the push rod into the machined hole on the
spindle, place the supplied spanner over the
faceplate boss and while holding the push rod,
rotate the spanner anti-clockwise to loosen the
face plate. Unscrew and place safely away, see fig
15.

Loosen
1. Clean wood shavings away from the lathe bed and
tool rest.
2. Spray a light coat of Camellia Oil or Axcaliber Dry
Lubricant, (see our website/cataloge for details) over the
lathe bed, to allow the banjo and tailstock to run more
smoothly over the bed, also spray the headstock
spindle and tailstock barrel to prevent corrosion, see
fig 16.
