Manual IP address assignment
To establish communication with the TCP/IP network, an IP Address must be assigned to
your AXIS 5900. Choose the appropriate method according to your network:
•
AXIS IP JumpStarter™ is an easy-to-use Windows application that allows you to
assign an IP address to your AXIS 5900 and find Axis servers already installed in your
network. Refer to
Setting the IP address using AXIS IP JumpStarter on page 10 for
instructions.
•
arp/ping - use this method to set the IP address for each new device individually. This
method cannot be used over routers. Refer to
Setting the IP address using arp/ping
on
page 11 for instructions.
Note:
If you are using host names, you can map a unique host name to the IP address. Refer to your system
manuals for instructions on how this is performed on your system.
