SCSI Devices and Termination
CD-ROM server termination set-up
The SCSI bus allows seven CD-ROM drives to be connected to the
CD-ROM server. Each unit on the SCSI bus must have an unique
SCSI address. SCSI addresses 0 through 6 can be used for the CD-
ROM drives connected to the CD-ROM server.
Termination
In order for the SCSI bus to work properly, it has to be electrically
terminated at both ends. This is usually done by attaching a
terminator plug to the last unit in the SCSI chain. Modern SCSI
drives may have built-in termination, which is activated or deactivated
using a switch on the back panel. Check the documentation for your
CD-ROM drive to see how to terminate the drive properly.
